Honors Program Mentors Named for Bumpers College

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Honors program mentors have been chosen for the 2020-21 academic year in U of A's Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.

Ten honors students are working as mentors to incoming freshmen in the honors program with Aryn Blumenberg and Caleb Parker serving as co-leaders of the group. The full team includes:

• Aryn Blumenberg, food science, co-lead
• Caleb Parker, agricultural leadership, co-lead
• Cecilia Azar, food, nutrition and health
• Ashley Berghoff, human development and family sciences
• Vivian Brantley, horticulture
• Mariajose Camara, apparel merchandising and product development
• Grant Johnson, agricultural business
• Devin Whiteside, animal science
• Logan Moss, agricultural leadership
• Anna Mathis, agricultural leadership

Each mentor is assigned to honors freshmen and responsible for building relationships. Through the relationships, mentors provide guidance from a student perspective, clear up misconceptions and engage the students with activities both in and out of the classroom. The mentor is viewed as a support network for the students.

The new team and each member's experiences help incoming freshmen better navigate their first year.
