Ongoing Teaching Innovations Digital Poster Event Offers Live Q&A Sessions This Week for Educators

Those who teach at the University of Arkansas can share new ideas during live question-and-answer sessions at the Teaching Innovations Digital Poster Session this week, Sept. 21 through 24.

The Global Campus will host the online-only event to help U of A educators explore creative teaching solutions from peers and learn how instructional designers can help instructors incorporate new approaches in their courses.

"We invite the academic community to collaborate with each other and instructional designers about these innovations," said Mary Price, senior instructional designer for Global Campus. "Opportunities for collaboration with colleagues will include chat areas, where you can post questions or add ideas at any time, as well as live question-and-answer sessions beginning on Monday, Sept. 21."

The sessions provide on-demand access to "digital poster" videos that highlight innovative approaches to teaching and learning at the U of A. Poster pages also will include links to relevant teaching resources and to join the live question-and-answer sessions and chats. The poster videos will be available any time.

Dates and times for the question-and-answer sessions are:

  • Monday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m., "Podcasting"
  • Tuesday, Sept. 22, 11 a.m., "Developing Online Internships"
  • Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1 p.m., "Accessibility"
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m., "Adding Interactivity with H5P"
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23, 3 p.m., "Open Educational Resources (OER)"
  • Thursday, Sept. 24, 11 a.m., "Virtual Field Trips"
  • Thursday, Sept. 24, 1 p.m., "TIPS in FrameVR"

Other teaching innovations and their benefits to be featured on the poster session website include audio and video feedback and employment of strategies for effective learning resources using automated assessment.

Participation in the online Teaching Innovations Digital Poster sessions is eligible for the Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center commendation program. Learn more about TFSC programs.
