Chancellor Steinmetz to Deliver Virtual State of the University Address Oct. 15

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Chancellor Joe Steinmetz will deliver his annual State of the University address virtually at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 15 on YouTube. This address will provide an update about the university’s current status and plans for the future.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the address will not be in front of a live audience, but a livestream will be available at the University of Arkansas YouTube channel and available for replay afterward.
"I encourage you to join me for an update on our recent successes and ongoing challenges, what we’re looking ahead to, as well as time for Q&A," Chancellor Steinmetz said. "This address is a part of our annual One University week, created to reinforce our larger mission and the progress we’re making every day."
Steinmetz plans on discussing some major campus successes and how the University of Arkansas has stayed focused on its academic mission despite the challenges related to COVID-19.
The U of A community can submit questions for the chancellor in the days before and during the State of the University address by emailing or sending a Teams chat to forums@uark.edu.
One University Week will be held Oct. 12-16, and will also feature other key university news updates including a preview of sesquicentennial events. The university will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its founding in 2021 and first day of classes in 2022.
