State of the University Address Today

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Chancellor Steinmetz plans to discuss his vision and goals for the next year and discuss major campus successes from the past year in his annual State of the University address this morning at 11 a.m. via the University of Arkansas’ YouTube channel. The address is open to all viewers.
“I encourage everyone to join me as we pause and take stock of where the university now stands,” Chancellor Steinmetz said. “This has been a very challenging year, as everyone knows. Unfortunately, that’s obscured some of the really great things that are happening on campus – things I look forward to sharing with our campus community.”
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the address will not be in front of a live audience, but a livestream will be available at the U of A’s YouTube channel and available for replay afterward.
The U of A community can submit questions for the chancellor in the days before and during the State of the University address by emailing or sending a Teams chat to forums@uark.edu.
One University Week runs through Oct. 16, and will continue featuring other key university news updates including a preview of sesquicentennial events. The university will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its founding in 2021 and first day of classes in 2022.
