Leaders from two of the top innovative programs at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the U of A invite you to take a coffee break with them and learn more about the school.

Learn, via Zoom, about the newly named William Dillard Department of Accounting from Gary F. Peters, department chair and S. Robson Walton Endowed Chair of Accounting at the Walton College. Pre-registration is required for his talk, which will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, 9-10 a.m.

In 2020, the Accounting Department became only the second named department on the Fayetteville campus when it was named for the founder of Dillard's Department Stores. Peters will talk about the transformational impact of the gift that named the department.

On Friday, Nov. 6, 9-10 a.m., learn how Walton College Dean Matt Waller's strategic initiative on integrity is coming to life through the new Business Integrity Leadership Initiative. Cindy Moehring, founder and executive chair of the initiative, will talk about what led to the establishment of the initiative, its goals and mission and how you can get involved. Pre-registration is required.

The Arkansas Alumni Association-sponsored coffee break programs engage U of A alumni, friends and family by hosting live online Zoom conferences. Those who participate will have the opportunity to interact with and ask the speaker questions all while getting together - virtually - with other alumni across the globe.

Peters joined the U of A in 2003 and served as the director of the Masters of Accounting Program from 2006-2016. His research and teaching focuses on factors that influence audit risk, accounting disclosure and corporate governance. He received the 2018 Honors College Distinguished Faculty Award and the 2016 Outstanding All-Around Faculty Member Award from the Walton College.

Moehring joined the Walton College with more than 27 years of leadership experience. She spent the past 20 years collaborating with the Walmart Board of Directors, four of the five Walmart CEOs, C-suite executives and other senior leaders to drive global, technology, culture, risk management and governance change. She spearheaded the transformation of Walmart's global culture of integrity in the wake of Walmart's Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation. She has developed and implemented a global ethics program in 27 countries for over 2 million employees.
