Small Business Innovation Research Week in the South: Arkansas is coming Nov. 2 - 6
SBIR Week in the South: Arkansas - a collaboration of the U.S. Small Business Administration, federal agencies and the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center - will present week-long events that connect Arkansas innovators working on advanced technology to the country's largest source of early stage funding - the Small Business Innovation Reserarch (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. Also known as America's See Fund, SBIR/STTR focuses on next-generation research and development.
The ASBTDC at the U of A encourages entrepreneurial-minded faculty and researchers to take part in the week's activities:
Monday, Nov. 2 - SBIR Week in the South Overview | 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Federal agencies will lead live virtual panels and sessions for the five-state Southern region. You must register for Monday's event before you can schedule one-on-one meetings with program managers for Friday.
Wednesday, Nov. 4 - Lab2Launch 2021 Kickoff
Applications will officially open for ASBTDC's 2021 Lab2Launch Accelerator for early-stage Arkansas companies seeking a first SBIR/STTR grant or contract.
Thursday, Nov. 5 - Arkansas Resources for Innovative Companies | all day

Join on Zoom for an interactive discussion about Arkansas-based funding opportunities for tech-based companies. Representatives from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission Division of Science and Technology, Arkansas Development and Finance Authority, Innovate Arkansas, and the Central Arkansas Angel Network will discuss their respective programs and engage in Q & A.
Friday, Nov. 6 - Virtual One-on-One Meetings with SBIR Program Managers | 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
A rare opportunity to talk one-on-one with SBIR/STTR program managers who will share insights into how their agencies make funding decisions and give feedback on your innovative technology.
The SBIR/STTR programs provided $4 billion during FY2020 in early-stage, non-dilutive funding to small businesses in a wide variety of technology areas such as unmanned systems, advanced materials, health, cybersecurity and defense. Connect with SBIR decision makers without leaving Arkansas!
