DEI Leadership Discussion to Take Place Nov. 3

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - A virtual panel discussion featuring U of A administration will discuss ways for higher education leaders to integrate diversity, equity and inclusion into their organizations at 12 p.m. on Nov. 3.
The event, titled "Becoming a DEI Ready Leader: Tips from U of A Senior Leaders," will include a discussion on ways leaders can help their universities in realizing their diversity and inclusion visions, how to communicate the importance of diversity and inclusion, identifying strategies to enrich diversity, equity and inclusion on campus and methods to enhance inclusive research opportunities.
Panelists are Chancellor Joe Steinmetz; Yvette Murphy-Erby, vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion; Ann Bordelon, vice chancellor for finance and administration; Deacue Fields, dean of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences; and John English, vice chancellor for research and innovation. Carolyn Allen, professor and special assistant to the provost, will moderate.
"As we work to strengthen and support strategic leadership from a diversity, equity and inclusion perspective on campus, hearing from our leadership on how they integrate DEI into their units and serve as best examples of DEI leadership," Murphy-Erby said.
