DiNicola Hired as Inclusion Liaison

Anthony DiNicola, an experienced diversity and inclusion educator and trainer, will liaise, support and advise the Chancellor's Office directly on matters of diversity and inclusion as the university's new inclusion liaison, effective Nov. 16.

Representing the Office of the Chancellor, the position will advance key diversity and inclusion initiatives from the office and provide enhanced support around specific student-focused projects in collaboration with the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, the Office for Employment Opportunity and Compliance and other stakeholders. While Angela Mosley-Monts, assistant vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion, will serve as the task supervisor, the position will be seated in the chancellor’s suite and report directly to the chancellor.

"I am thrilled that Anthony will be joining our team to advance our diversity and inclusion efforts," Steinmetz said. "Anthony is a dynamic personality with a broad portfolio of skills that will help drive our efforts and strengthen relationships with, and connections to, key constituencies across campus. I look forward to seeing him hit the ground running to support us in this important work."

DiNicola has served as the senior educator and marketing coordinator at Catharsis Productions since 2012, where he led comprehensive trainings in corporate, military and university settings, including trainings on protected class bias, cultivating inclusive workplaces and other diversity and inclusion topics.

Additionally, he delivered sexual assault prevention programming to students at universities such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Texas A&M and Tulane University.

"It is so exciting for me to take all of my experience, personal and professional, and to use it to explore how this institution can better serve the lives and education of all students," DiNicola said. "This is a position that is about my true passion: relationship building. With that foundation, there is so much that we can accomplish as a community. The position is newly created by Chancellor Steinmetz following conversations this summer around the racial climate on campus.

DiNicola earned a bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College in Maine.
