Practical Strategies for Managing Emotions and Stress in the Elusive Search for Work-Life Balance

Join the Teaching and Faculty Support Center for the Virtual Faculty Presentation, from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, and from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4. Jenn Veilleux, associate professor of psychological sciences, will talk about the elusive goal of work-life balance, which is often hard for faculty (and maybe especially hard when working mostly remote).

She will give some practical evidence-based strategies on how to manage stress and cope with negative emotions, and how to tailor this advice specifically for you. Throughout, she will also highlight the importance of emotional flexibility, including the value of actually feeling your feelings and not just trying to stuff them down or push them aside.

Boxed lunches will be offered for those that will be on campus during the presentation. Please RSVP. before noon Wednesday, Jan. 17. Be sure to select the type of boxed lunch you would like. Let Lori know if you have any special dietary needs.  If you plan to attend but will not need a meal, please indicate this on your RSVP form. Before the meeting we will send the information for joining the presentation, as well as the time and location for you to pick up your lunch.

We look forward seeing you on Zoom!
