Calling all graduate and professional students, postdocs and faculty: It is hard enough to be a graduate student (even harder to be a postdoc or faculty) and manage a healthy work-life balance. Add to that the pressure to exceed expectations in an environment filled with uncertainty. How then do we thrive? Or even survive? Does it get any easier after grad school? Sometimes, it helps us cope when we know we are not alone, that others face similar struggles, that what we are experiencing is in fact "normal" while our specific situation is unique.

Whether you are in your first or last year of grad school, or a professional in academia, you are welcome to come and learn from and encourage each other. We will learn how to embrace the paradox of being both "Strong and Weak" in all areas of our lives. We will also explore how to develop our "Mind's Mission" through two book studies and Bible study. No prior knowledge is needed. Books will be provided. This group is also a great way to diversify your network.

Bi-weekly group meetings (via Zoom) start at 8 p.m. today, Monday, Jan. 25. Please register here if you wish to attend for the spring semester. Registration deadline: 8 p.m. today, Jan 25.

Bi-weekly meeting link: Zoom link / Zoom ID:  934 1334 1031

Meeting dates: Jan. 25, Feb. 8, Feb. 22, March 8, March 22, April 5, and April 19.

We look forward to journeying with you. For more information, please contact: Shilpi Mukherjee (sxm063@uark.edu) or Micah Cheung (micah.cheung@intervarsity.org).

This group is being hosted by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (RSO), a campus ministry at the U of A that wants to leave a spiritual legacy that is marked by intimacy and mission. We hope that our GFM community can become a caring and supportive spiritual community for graduate students and faculty that encourages personal growth in Christ and flourishing in their industry. Our goal is to empower and equip students to be salt and light in their graduate departments and profession. More information on InterVarsity's Graduate and Faculty Ministries can be found here.
