Adventures on the Buffalo River

UREC Outdoors organizes diverse adventure activities for members of our campus community. Due to the pandemic, trips look a little different for UREC Outdoors participants with a bigger focus on staying local and exploring our Northwest Arkansas backyard.

For those who are wanting to choose their own adventure, UREC Outdoors created a passport that highlights some of our favorite outdoor spaces in Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas. With 20 unique locations offering a wide variety of activities, anything from mountain biking, camping, fishing, and paddling.

Participants are encouraged to visit each location and get a picture of yourself or a distinct landmark at that area. Post that picture to social media and tag @urecarkansas and use the #UOPassport. Show those pictures to the UREC Outdoors staff in HPER 102 to receive a check off and claim a prize for going to multiple locations. Prizes include stickers, custom coffee mugs, backpacks, sleeping bags, and more. Please see page two of the UO Passport for prize details.

If you need gear for any of the adventures listed in the passport you can rent equipment from UREC Outdoors. If you have questions about UREC Outdoors, contact us at 479-575-CAMP (2267), camp@uark.edu or visit HPER 102.
