Adams Hired Into New Director of Faculty Development Role

Stephanie G. Adams, formerly associate director of academic engagement in University Housing at the University of Arkansas, will help advance faculty development efforts from the Provost's Office as the director of faculty development.
The position, which is newly created, reports to Kathy Sloan, vice provost for faculty affairs. The director is responsible for designing and facilitating comprehensive faculty development programs, provide outreach and communications to faculty, engage with campus leaders in strategic planning for faculty success and continue to develop a continuous professional development model for faculty.
Adams brings nearly 20 years of higher education experience in the role, beginning in Ithaca College in New York. She has worked at the U of A since 2007 serving in a variety of roles, from an instructor in University Perspectives to student services coordinator in the College of Engineering.
"Dr. Stephanie Adams joins the Office of Faculty Affairs with significant experience in program development and faculty engagement," Sloan said. "She joins myself and Eva Cordero, director of academic HR, to innovate and deliver a new suite of professional development opportunities to promote faculty success. I am thrilled to have Dr. Adams join our team."

So I look forward to working with Dr. Sloan and assisting her enhance faculty development initiatives that will build a stronger, more inclusive, and collaborative faculty community at the University of Arkansas."
Adams holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in communications from Baldwin-Wallace College, a master's degree in adult learning and development from Cleveland State University, and a doctorate in higher education administration from the U of A.
