Accent Faculty Performance Series Continues With Delaplain and Mueller

The Accent Faculty Performance Series continues this week in the Department of Music featuring Theresa Delaplain (oboe) and Robert Mueller (piano) for a livestream performance from the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. The performance is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4, and can be viewed live from the Department of Music's YouTube Channel.

Delaplain and Mueller will pair for a concert titled "Mosaics." Their selections include pieces by Georg Friedrich Handel, William Grant Still, Florence Price, Adriana Verdié, Claude Debussy, and an original work by Theresa Delaplain. "Song Without Words" will be performed with an arrangement by Robert Mueller for piano and oboe that features stunning melodies by Arkansas native composer, Florence Price. Delaplain will give the world premiere of Verdié's "Esperanza Rota" and give a collaborative performance of her own work, "Mosaic of Joy," with animation provided by local artist Lisa Marie Evans.

Delaplain is assistant professor of oboe. She is an active musician in both orchestral and chamber music and teaches oboe and music theory. Mueller is professor of composition and music theory. He directs the University Symphony Orchestra and is a prolific composer.
