2021 A-Week Mentor Applications Now Open
The office of New Student & Family Programs is now accepting applications for 2021 A-Week Mentors. Applications will be accepted throughout the summer, but submissions received by April 30 will be given priority consideration for selection.
A-Week is designed to assist incoming first-year students in their transition from high school to college by providing programming focused on student success in and outside of their classroom experience. A-Week will begin after students move into their residence halls, and it will run until the day before classes start. Each day of A-Week focuses on a specific theme related to student success: Academic Success, Traditions, Involvement, Diversity, and Wellness.
A-Week connects incoming students with both new and experienced Razorbacks, as each new student will be placed into a small group, called A-Teams, which are led by the A-Week Mentors.
A-Week Mentors are volunteer student leaders who work to facilitate the objectives and small group activities as they relate to the A-Week fall transition initiative. A-Week Mentors will be required to attend the daily topic-specific programs, small group discussions and various campus social events throughout the week's programming. Mentors will provide valuable insight and knowledge about the students' new home and how to be successful at the University of Arkansas.
