Staff Senate Now Accepting Scholarship Applications

Are you a full-time staff member taking classes here at the U of A? Or are you thinking about it? If so, you may be eligible for scholarship support through the U of A Staff Senate Scholarship fund.

Applications may be submitted via the Fall 2021 Staff Senate Scholarship Application. The deadline for submission is 5 p.m., June 2. Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Awards:  The number of scholarships to be awarded will be determined by the number of eligible applicants. Disbursement will be up to $250 per major semester (fall 2021 and spring 2022).

Purpose: This award was developed to promote and encourage staff development through higher education.

Eligibility: Each applicant must be a 100 percent appointed, full-time University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, staff employee. Applicants must also be employed by the U of A for at least one year prior to the scholarship deadline.

Criteria: The following criteria will be utilized to determine the award. Each applicant must:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher to receive the award;
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the fall semester in order to continue the scholarship for the spring semester;
  • Be enrolled in at least three credit hours of coursework per semester;
  • Express a desire to contribute to the university through further educational endeavors;
  • Demonstrate a need for financial assistance in the pursuit of further education;
  • Provide two references by submitting two Recommendation Forms; and
  • Finalists may be interviewed by the members of the Scholarship Committee.
