Following a resolution passed by the Associated Student Government and supported by Faculty Senate, the U of A will reschedule Fall Break to Oct. 25-26 to avoid conflict with Homecoming festivities.

Previously scheduled for Oct. 18-19, ASG passed a resolution last month requesting it to be moved to the new dates, a request which the Faculty Senate voted to support. Provost Charles Robinson agreed to the change to separate the break from Homecoming celebrations, which will take place Oct. 16-17.

Established in 2011, Fall Break offers a four-day weekend in the middle of the semester to give students a chance to rest and recharge before the final weeks of the semester.

The updated academic calendar can be viewed on the Registrar website.
