Diversity of Student Research Highlighted at Fourth Annual GPSC Research Colloquium
The Graduate Student and Professional Congress' Research Council hosted a research presentation contest as part of the fourth annual GPSC Research Colloquium on April 15. The event is held each year during the spring semester and showcases the diverse research done by graduate students on campus while also encouraging graduates to develop an appreciation and general understanding of research beyond their respective fields. This year's colloquium was held virtually and hosted nearly 25 presenters from across campus whose presentations were judged by a team of faculty and staff.
While all presenters demonstrated excellent knowledge of their topics and exemplary communication skills, the following individuals' presentations were exceptional and deserving of the six awards:
- First place: Bich Tran, Department of Education Reform
- Second place: Rachel Slank, Department of Space and Planetary Sciences
- Third place: Chao Sui, Department of Mechanical Engineering
- Fourth place: Surabhi Wason, Department of Food Science
- Fifth place (tied): Emily Coady, Department of Education Reform
- Fifth place (tied): Asmita Singh, Department of Food Science
GPSC extends its congratulations to these excellent researchers and its gratitude to all those who participated by sharing their research.
