Buttons distributed at past campus high-impact practices events.

Calling all faculty, staff and students who are engaged in high-impact educational practices, or HIPs, to send a video description of your good work to be included in the U of A virtual HIP Escape Room and student success library.

The videos will be used to promote HIPs implemented at the U of A as part of the HIP Conference and Conversations in July.

Promote how your work advances student engagement, learning and/or equity. These videos will be showcased on HIPs at U of A website.   

According to the AAC&U, the 11 high-impact practices are First-Year Seminars, Common Intellectual Experiences, Learning Communities, Writing-Intensive Courses, Collaborative Assignments and Projects, Undergraduate Research, Diversity/Global Learning, ePortfolios, Service learning/Community-Based Learning, Internships, and Capstone Courses and Projects. Wellness Programs are also high-impact practices for U of A students and will be included in the project.   

Video submission guidelines: 

  • All faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students are invited to submit videos.

  • Create a video (3-10 minutes) showcasing a HIP, wellness and/or DEI initiative. 

  • Be sure to introduce yourself and your department and/or office. 

  • Complete the form

  • Submissions due June 25, 2021.  

This event is sponsored by the ARSC Student Success Team; Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education; Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Student Success Center; Teaching Faculty and Support Center; Teaching Innovation and Pedagogical Support; and many others.

Video submissions are due by June 25 to be considered for our 2021 HIP Escape Room.
