Dedicated to More: Social Justice Series for Graduate Students

The Office of Graduate Student Support is hosting a summer series of weekly sessions designed to allow graduate students to engage in ideas around social justice and advocacy. The goal of the series is to promote an inclusive campus community where diversity, equity, access and civility are valued in the campus culture. The series begins June 3 and will explore the following topics:

  • Intercultural Development Inventory and Assessment, led by Brande Flack and Jacqueline Wiersma-Mosley (limited to first 20 students); Thursday, June 3, from 3:30-5 p.m.; in-person (Grad Student Lounge, GEAR 206)
  • Intro to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, led by Synetra Hughes and Angela Mosley-Monts; Thursday, June 10, from 3:30-5 p.m.; virtual
  • History of Race in the South, led by staff from the IDEALS Institute; Wednesday, June 16, from 3-5 p.m.; virtual
  • How To Be An Ally 101, led by Anthony DiNicola; Thursday, June 24, from 3:30-5 p.m.; virtual
  • SafeZone Training for LGBTQ+ Allies, led by Brande Flack; Thursday, July 1, from 3:30-5 p.m.; in-person (Grad Student Lounge, GEAR 206)
  • Tackling Microaggressions, led by Anthony DiNicola; Thursday, July 8, from 3:30-5 p.m.; virtual
  • Workshop: Power Dynamics as a Graduate Student, led by Anthony DiNicola; Thursday, July 15, from 3:30-5 p.m.; in-person (Grad Student Lounge, GEAR 206)
  • How to Be an Effective Advocate, led by Sara Bishop; Thursday, July 22, from 3:30-5 p.m.; virtual
