Deadline Extended to Submit Video for Virtual HIP Escape Room and High Impact Practice Library

Deadline extended to July 2, 2021, for faculty, staff and students who are engaged in high-impact educational practices, or HIPs, to submit videos. Video descriptions of high-impact practices will be included in the U of A virtual HIP Escape Room and U of A HIP library.
The videos do not need to be extravagant. Here are two example videos from Dr. Lynn Meade addressing DEI assignments: one features a PowerPoint presentation and the other is recorded on a smart phone.
Promote how your work advances student engagement, learning and/or equity. These videos will be showcased on HIPs at U of A website.
According to the AAC&U, the 11 high-impact practices are First-Year Seminars, Common Intellectual Experiences, Learning Communities, Writing-Intensive Courses, Collaborative Assignments and Projects, Undergraduate Research, Diversity/Global Learning, ePortfolios, Service learning/Community-Based Learning, Internships and Capstone Courses and Projects. Wellness Programs are also high-impact practices for U of A students and will be included in the project.
Video submission guidelines:
- All faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students are invited to submit videos.
- Create a video (3-10 minutes) showcasing a HIP, wellness and/or DEI initiative.
- Be sure to introduce yourself and your department and/or office.
- Complete the form.
- Submission deadline extended to July 2, 2021.

The Virtual HIP Escape Room will be available to the campus community July 26. Face-to-Face HIP discussions are scheduled for the morning of July 30, 2021, in the Arkansas Union Ballroom. Sign-up for the July event will be released soon.
