Zoom users can indicate the pronouns they prefer (e.g., she/her/hers, he/him/his or they/them/theirs).

As part of an ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, IT Services has enabled the new Zoom option that allows users to add pronouns to their profiles.

The pronouns field is enabled by default in the profile menu, and pronoun information is seen as part of a user's contact card. Zoom users can add their preferred pronouns to their profiles and choose to show this information with their display names in meetings and webinars.

To add pronouns:

  1. Click on the settings icon in the Zoom toolbar.
  2. Click Profile and then click Edit my Profile. This will open uark.zoom.us in your web browser.
  3. Click Edit next to your name.
  4. Enter pronouns in the Pronouns field.
  5. Select an option from the "Share in a meeting or webinar?" drop-down menu.

Meeting hosts can also allow participants to change their display names during meetings.

Learn more about Zoom's features on IT Service's Zoom Video Conferencing webpage. Contact the IT Help Desk at help.uark.edu or 479-575-HELP with any questions or concerns.
