Multiple COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Offered Across Campus Starting Aug. 18

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – With the fall semester beginning on Aug. 23, University of Arkansas students, faculty and staff will have multiple opportunities over the next week to receive a COVID-19 vaccine if they have not already done so. 

Starting on Wednesday, Aug. 18, three different clinics will be held as part of the A-Week, Hillfest and Walton College Block Party events. Each clinic will be administering the Jansen/J&J one-time vaccine and is available for anyone who has yet to receive a single dose of a vaccine.

Those participating in one of these clinics are asked to bring a form of I.D. and an insurance card if available. No appointment is necessary.

COVID-19 VACCINE CLINIC SCHEDULE

• Wed. Aug. 18 – 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Ann Kitrell Art Gallery (4th floor of Arkansas Union)
   
• Mon. Aug. 23 – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge
   
• Wed. Aug. 25 – 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Willard J. Walker Hall, room WJWH 203

Each of these clinics will be conducted with the help of the Arkansas Department of Health and the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care.

While state law prevents mandating it, COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged.

VACCINE INCENTIVES

Vaccinated students are reminded to enter the university’s vaccine incentive program. 

Weekly drawings for prizes will begin Sept. 1 and will be held throughout the semester for all vaccinated students who enter. Currently unvaccinated students can become eligible as soon as they are vaccinated and have entered to win. 

Each week, at least 15 prizes including three $500 scholarships will be awarded to vaccinated students who have entered to win. New winning names will be drawn randomly each week. So, the sooner students get vaccinated (and enter), the sooner they become eligible for the weekly drawings.

Proof of vaccination (defined as one dose of Johnson & Johnson or second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine) will be required to claim prizes.
