Alumna Jennifer Holland begins her new role as director of content marketing on Sept. 15.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas alumna Jennifer Holland has been named the new director of content marketing for the university, effective Sept. 15. In this role, she will coordinate, develop and manage university content marketing, including influencer emails, influencer websites and microsites, videos and paid advertising.

Holland has been with the U of A since 2004 and was most recently the director of development communications, where she was responsible for managing relationships, marketing and communications needs for multiple clients within university advancement. In the eight years she spent in the position, she helped coordinate messaging and branding for university development, specifically as it applied to Campaign Arkansas, the university’s capital campaign that concluded in 2020 and raised nearly $1.45 billion.

Prior to that role, Holland spent eight and a half years with the Sam M. Walton College of Business in the Office of External Relations, primarily serving as an assistant and associate director of development, where she was responsible for fundraising and volunteer management for the college.

“What I’m most excited about in this new role is the chance to share more of the university’s stories,” Holland said. “Working in university advancement gave me the opportunity to write student, faculty and staff stories that were made possible thanks to private gift support. Now, I’ll be able to expand this breadth of storytelling to include even more areas across campus. There are many inspiring stories unfolding on our campus each day, and I’m looking forward to sharing them with wider audiences so more people are aware of the incredible work being done at the University of Arkansas.”

The director of content marketing position reports to Amy Schlesing, the executive director of strategic communications in University Relations. Holland will work closely with her to build a strategy to enhance reputation and raise awareness of university efforts in teaching, learning, research and outreach across statewide and national audiences. She will also collaborate on the development of campaigns to raise the university’s profile in the state and across targeted national constituencies.

“Jennifer’s ability to write impactful stories combined with her experience in development and integrated marketing make her a unique talent and great fit for this new role,” Schlesing said. “Content marketing is a key part of our work in advancing and building the U of A’s national reputation and we are fortunate to have Jennifer leading this effort in University Relations.”

Holland graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and was named the outstanding graduate in marketing. She also earned a Master of Education in higher education from the U of A in 2008. She is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Fayetteville and was named to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” in 2012. In 2015, she received the University Advancement Hardin Award for her work within the division.
