A new student executive committee has been formed this fall to help direct Leadership Walton, a career path management program in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the U of A.

Leadership Walton was founded in 2007 to provide students a defined progression of professional development requirements as an enhancement to their educational experience. Sammi Nelson, associate director for student success and Leadership Walton coordinator, will oversee this program and the executive committee.

The committee adopts a three-part mission:

  • To strengthen the visibility and quality of Leadership Walton.
  • To provide support of Leadership Walton activities.
  • To advise on program changes to Leadership Walton.

The committee was formed after a competitive application process. Other officers and members are:

President:

  • Morgan Wojciechowski – Republic, Missouri

Vice President of Public Relations:

  • Amelia Catanzaro – Lowell

Vice President of Community Outreach:

  • Laura Jo Randall – Little Rock

Vice President of Member Outreach:

  • Quincee Scates – Springdale

Secretary:

  • Hanna Strombom – Overland Park, Kansas

Board Members:

  • Grayson Malone – McKinney, Texas
  • Nathan Peck – Olathe, Kansas
  • Zachary Hassan – College Station, Texas
  • Alisa Wyant – Richardson, Texas

Wojciechowski said, "I am super excited to be serving another year on the executive committee because I've seen the impact that Leadership Walton has had on myself and other students; it's a vital key to student's professional development. This year, we have begun to pivot the program to S.A.M, which ultimately creates more of a competitive advantage for our members, as they can collect badges to share with their network. We are excited to see the progress of this change. As a committee, our goal this year is to engage more with new and previous members while also creating new traditions of our own. We have a lot of upcoming events and opportunities, and we are very excited for this year!"
