Selena Hriz is the new director of project management for IT Services.

Selena Hriz was named the new IT Services director of project management on Aug. 2. This position leads the project management office in collaborating with campus departments to position the university to meet federal audit and compliance standards and improve campus information infrastructure.

"I am excited for Selena to take on this leadership role in IT Services and continue to advance the mission of the project management office," Steve Krogull, chief information officer, said. "Selena focuses on building relationships across campus and offers a customer-centric approach to cross-functional project planning."

Hriz joined the IT Services project management team in June 2019. She created and implemented the first project intake process and supported the delivery of multiple large-scale projects, including multi-factor authentication, adaptive insights and the faculty information system (formerly Digital Measures). Previously, Hriz worked for Walmart in a variety of roles: product developer, agile coach, scrum master and senior business analyst.

"The opportunities in front of us are very exciting, and I'm grateful to join the leadership team," Hriz said. "It's an exciting time to be a part of IT Services and to help continue initiatives that will transform and mature the enterprise as well as strengthen relationships within the university."

Hriz is currently pursuing her master's degree of education in human resource and workforce development from the U of A. She also received her bachelor's degree in communications from the university in 2008.
