Learn How to Expand Your Community Impact With Rotaract on Oct. 12

Rotaract Club at the U of A invites students to attend its first-ever Community Impact Conference from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Walton Conference Hub in RCED 112-117. Free dinner will be provided. All students are welcomed to attend this impactful event.

At this event students will learn how to make a meaningful community impact from two amazing and interactive speakers while working with other student leaders on campus! This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in social innovation, service, leadership, non-profit work or simply making an impact in the community around them. Speakers will include Melanie Palmer and Helena Gadison.

Palmer is owner and principal of M. Palmer Consulting, a fundraising consulting firm that assists nonprofits to raise money for their missions. Palmer has served in the nonprofit sector as a board member, executive director and development director. She is a proud U of A graduate and loves empowering students to make a difference.

Gadison is a 25-year award-winning business leader and entrepreneur for prominent U.S and global corporations such as Walmart and Lane Bryant, featured in the fall 2005 Career Issue of Black Professionals, Top 100 Blacks in Corporate America. Her depth and breadth of knowledge spans retail operations, sales, merchandising, public speaking, branding, global sourcing, strategic communications and leadership development, having held such prestigious roles as vice president of Walmart International Apparel Merchandising.

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled U of A students who pay the student activities fee. For questions about the event or for accommodations due to disability, please contact Julianna Kantner, jmkantne@uark.edu, 913-808-1424.
