Renovations have begun at the food court on 1021 W. Dickson St., formerly known as Brough Commons.

The renovation includes expanding the dining space on the east side of the building and installing an outdoor patio. The patio will include several new seating options for diners and improved landscaping. Interior renovations are also underway, including expanding the kitchen and dining area and adding a convenience store.

Lynne Bell, assistant vice chancellor of business services for student affairs, believes the renovation is the next step in providing students with an improved dining experience on campus.

"This project is part of a 10-year strategic plan for food service developed by the university and Chartwells. We plan to move the current Slim Chickens to a larger space on the west side and create a new market-style convenience store," Bell said. "When complete, this renovation will improve our ability to serve students and add additional outdoor seating with great mountain views."

Construction is scheduled to be completed next summer. Project updates and more details may be found on the Facilities Management website.
