Final Round of Sutton Barrister's Union Trial Competition This Friday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The final round of the 2021 William H. Sutton Barrister’s Union Trial Competition will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, in the E.J. Ball Courtroom, located on the second floor of Waterman Hall.

University of Arkansas School of Law students who have made it to the final four teams include:

  • Hannah Malone and Dalton Cook
  • Abbey Jackson and Hayley Harris
  • Katie Sparrow and Justin Gunderman
  • Drake Murdock and Lacy Ashworth

The round will be judged by an esteemed panel:

  • The Hon. Timothy L. Brooks of the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas
  • The Hon. John C. Threet of the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Arkansas
  • Emily White, Attorney at Law at Caddell Reynolds law firm

The event is open to the public, and the campus and legal communities are invited to attend. Please arrive by 12:45 p.m. to be seated for the trial to begin promptly at 1.

The Sutton Trial Competition is held annually and is named for William H. Sutton (1931-2015), a 1959 graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law with a distinguished legal career that spanned more than five decades.
