Virtual Session Offered on Bridge to the Doctoral Fellowship
Please join Cayla Jones and Patrice Sims at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, for an information session on the National Science Foundation Bridge to the doctoral fellowship program available to student populations historically underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, the STEM fields.
Jones is assistant director of graduate recruitment and student support, and Sims is assistant director of diversity, equity and inclusion for the College of Engineering.

The National Science Foundation identifies underrepresented groups as African Americans, Hispanic Americans, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and Native Pacific Islanders.
The fellowship will provide a $32,000 annual stipend for two years, plus tuition and health insurance, to a cohort of 12 students pursuing doctoral degrees in the foundation's "Ten Big Ideas" priority areas at the U of A.
The university was awarded more than $1 million from the Arkansas Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation for the fellowships.
