Deadline Approaching for Department of Energy's EnergyTech University Prize

The U of A is thrilled to partner with a brand-new prize from the Department of Energy's Office of Technology Transitions. The EnergyTech University Prize challenges post-secondary students of all backgrounds to explore an energy technology and propose a viable business plan through an engaging competition. 

There's still time to enter the EnergyTech University Prize for the chance to earn part of $250,000 in cash prizes. This competition challenges students to identify an energy technology, assess its market potential and propose a strategy for commercialization. Students develop a business plan and present at a regional competition but don't have to enact their plans in any way. Plus, students don't have to be a business, engineering or science major — students of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply! 

The prize administrators are holding several informational chats over the next two weeks to answer any questions students may have about the prize. Submissions are due at 5 p.m. ET Monday, Jan. 31, so don't wait! Register your team and upload your 200-word summary and brief slide deck on the EnergyTech UP HeroX competition platform today.
