ASG Hosts Leadership Summit Feb. 27

Associated Student Government will host a leadership development conference titled "Taking Charge: Student Leadership and Development Summit" starting at 9 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 27, on campus at the Bell Engineering Center.

This conference will be free and open to all U of A students, but anyone planning to attend must RSVP in advance. The link to RSVP is already open, and students are encouraged to sign up.  More information will be shared with students who have RSVPed closer to the event. 

The conference will include a variety of speakers, workshops and networking opportunities. Students will have the chance to learn about professionalism, resume building, interview tips and more. Students will also receive a document from the Associated Student Government certifying their completion of the program that will be beneficial to any student pursuing leadership both on and off campus.  

The conference will also include a keynote speech from Jeannette Collins, an entrepreneur with business savvy in Northwest Arkansas. Collins serves on the Northwest Arkansas Council as the Director of Entrepreneurship. She is also the primary contact for StartupNWA, a program focused on business innovation and growth for entrepreneurs in the region. She will speak on her experiences with leadership in a multitude of capacities, as well as her work in promoting diversity and equity in and out of the workplace.

The U of A currently has a mask mandate requiring the wearing of face coverings in all indoor venues. All members attending this conference will be required to wear a face covering.
