Envisioning Justice: The Campus Voice This Week With Speakers and Workshops

Volunteer Action Center, Multicultural Center and University Programs are proud to present Envisioning Justice: The Campus Voice, a two-day conference highlighting topics on civil rights, environmental health, sexual assault awareness and mental health.

Here are our speakers and workshops for Feb. 24 (Sexual Assault Awareness and Environmental Health):

  • Speaker: Prentis Grayson and Naudia Walton from Let's Talk NWA of NWA Center for Sexual Assault — 10-11 a.m.
  • Workshop: SHOO (Sexual Health Organization and Outreach RSO), Self Love After Trauma — 12:30-1:30 p.m.
  • Speaker: Gabriel Díaz Montemayor, associate professor of landscape architecture and assistant dean of diversity, equity and inclusion — 2-3 p.m.
  • Workshop: UarkSAFE (Students Advocating for the Environment RSO), Ecobrick Building — 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Here are our speakers and workshops for Feb. 25 (Civil Rights and Mental Health):

  • Speaker: Airic Hughes, founder of Visionari, philanthropist, artist and Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History — 10-11 a.m.
  • Workshop: Associated Student Government DEI, intersectionality in volunteer work and finding ways to advocate for social justice — 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Workshop: Students with Refugees, Refugee Advocacy and Allyship — 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Speaker: Yasmin Benoit, asexual activist, writer, speaker — 1:30-2:30 p.m.

And don't forget to check out Red Talks on Wednesday, Feb. 23, in Old Main Giffels Auditorium, where students will be speaking about their experiences with LGBTQIA+ allyship, food insecurity, mental health and grief, sexual assault, anti-Semitism and cross cultural health.
