FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Coinciding with declining COVID-19 transmission rate in the area, climbing vaccination rates among faculty, staff and students, the recent shift in CDC guidance, and guidance from the University of Arkansas System president, the U of A has moved to a “Mask Recommended” policy indoors across campus.

Masks are no longer required in any indoor areas, including classrooms and labs, but are recommended, especially when social distancing can not be maintained.

There are limited exceptions where masks are still required:

  • Pat Walker Health Center
  • Speech and Hearing Clinic
  • Razorback Transit
  • Jean Tyson Child Development Study Center

The university’s masking guidance has also been updated online.

MASKS AVAILABLE AROUND CAMPUS

Free C195, KN95 and 3-ply disposable masks are available for members of the campus community.

KN95s and 3-ply disposable masks may be acquired from Facilities Management Central Supply and the C195s are available at the ASG office, Union Help Desk, dining halls or by request for delivery. All masks are available to everyone.

The university's COVID-19 Response site continues to be updated during the pandemic with the latest news and information for the campus community.
