Save the Date: Salary Negotiation for Women Panel Discussion March 31

In celebration of Women's History Month, the Chancellor's Commission on Women will present a virtual panel discussion on the theme "Salary Negotiation for Women" from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, March 31, via Zoom.

The "gender pay gap" exists, despite gains made by women over the past few decades. Women continue to be less likely to ask for more pay when they are offered a job and are more likely to stay in lower paying positions. Panelists will discuss the consequences of women settling for lower salaries and offer strategies for salary negotiation.

  • Carolyn Chitwood, director of career education at the U of A Career Development Center
  • Michelle Pribbernow, associate director of employer relations for the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences
  • Angela Williams, teaching assistant professor for the College of Arts and Sciences and former director of the U of A Career Development Center

The panel will be moderated by Angela Mosely-Monts, associate vice chancellor for the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Register and post a question in advance.

About the Chancellor's Commission on Women: Founded in 2010, the Chancellor's Commission on Women is an advisory group charged with reviewing and monitoring policies, programs and issues to ensure that all women at the university are given the best possible opportunities for success within the institution and in their professional and college careers. Membership comprises both graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, and staff who serve on staggered three-year appointments to ensure fresh and diverse points of view. The group collectively decides on issues to address each year, and relies on input from colleagues, students, and occasional surveys to gain a sense of the campus' interests and needs.
