The PETAL Lab is looking for motivated and hardworking undergraduate students to work as research assistants in the lab starting Fall 2022. Typically we look for psychology majors, but are open to other majors such as pre-med.

Research assistants have the opportunity to participate in data entry and analysis, running participants, screening participants and much more.

As a lab we use laboratory-based methods to model the central features of anxiety and trauma-related disorders. In addition to studying disorder-specific vulnerability, we conduct basic work on emotion and emotion regulation processes. Currently we are running studies that include inducing acute sleep deprivation or cannabidiol (CBD) administration in the context of emotional responding to reminders of stressful events.

If interested in becoming a part of our lab, please contact Riley Gournay at lrgourna@uark.edu.
