College of Engineering JEDI Hour Features Talk on Violence Against Women
The College of Engineering's April JEDI Hour will feature Jacquelyn Wiersma-Mosley discussing Understanding Violence Against Women in recognition of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Wiersma-Mosley is a professor in the School of Human Environmental Sciences in Bumpers College. Her research program has largely been dedicated to investigating violence against women, including risk factors for victimization among marginalized populations (i.e., LGBTQ+ community, students with disabilities).
Her research has addressed various systems of campus sexual assault, including Title IX, consent, alcohol consumption and bystander intervention. Her research is funded by the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation with recent collaborations with the College of Engineering focused on intercultural competence development.
The hour-long talk is at 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, via Zoom. Registration is not necessary and all are welcome.
