Cultivating Change: Planning for the Future
At the Diversity Forum Town Hall in the Spring of 2021, LGBTQ+ students in agriculture expressed feeling "invisible" and asked for an organization that represented their intersecting identities. Through these conversations, the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion teamed up with Tyson to gauge interest in a local chapter of Cultivating Change, a foundation geared toward "valuing and elevating LGBTQ+ agriculturists through advocacy, education and community."
A planning meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, with interested students and representatives from Tyson; the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; and Bumpers College to explore establishing a chapter of Students for Cultivating Change at the U of A campus.
