Our global society has experienced unprecedented changes in the last couple of years. The COVID-19 pandemic created drastic changes to our personal and professional lives. We went to a virtual work and learning environment almost overnight. People in leadership positions had to make impossible decisions on items no one has ever experienced. With all the changes that are happening in our world, what does it take to be a leader in today's global society? Do basic leadership principles from 30 years ago still apply? The webinar will discuss these leadership challenges as well as developing future leaders. Register here.
In addition, you will learn about our new MicroCertificate in Leading Operational Change. This two-course certificate will cover organizational and individual barriers to change facing those in leadership roles and provide specialized knowledge and skills on how to manage and lead change initiatives. Morris is an instructor for one of the courses, Leadership Principles.

The Department of Industrial Engineering in the College of Engineering has two professional graduate degree programs: the M.S. in operations management and the M.S. in engineering management. The M.S.O.M. program began in 1974 and is designed for professionals from a broad range of backgrounds including business and government operations. Students learn how to create value to the production of goods and services while working with world-wide suppliers and customers. The M.S.E.M. began in 2017 and prepares engineers to lead and manage teams, projects and organizations with technical workforces to meet strategic objectives. The programs also include graduate certificates in operations management, engineering management, project management, lean six sigma and homeland security to broaden student understanding of current skills needed by operations and engineering managers. All programs have a goal of "Learn It Today. Use It Tomorrow."

Spring Bike Drive Refurbishes Old Bikes for New Students
All donated bikes will be given to Pedal It Forward, a local nonprofit that will refurbish your bike and return it to the U of A campus to be gifted to a student in need. Hundreds of students have already benefited.
