Panamanian Student Organization Hosts Novatadas 2022 April 21
Panamanian Student Organization

Panamanian Student Organization invites students to attend Novatadas 2022, a large cultural event, at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 21, in the Arkansas Union Verizon Ballroom.

This is planned to be a big cultural event to which the U of A is invited. The event will revolve around a traditional Panamanian high school contest called "novatadas," in which the seniors encourage and prepare freshman girls to present themselves to the school community to create a sense of inclusion and networking. This event will have a setting like a beauty pageant; however, the winning girl will be chosen based on luck. We will include activities such as face painting/decorating, a show that portrays the cultural event in Panama's high schools, traditional dances by the folkloric dance group and free food. The event will be a representation of those high school dynamics, so the U of A would have the opportunity to appreciate a piece of Panama's youth culture.

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee. For questions about the event or for accommodations due to disability, please contact Rachel Piontak, rpiontak@uark.edu, (479) 387-9214
