Acclaimed Tech Author Clive Thompson Announced as Keynote for Walton Women in IT Conference

Walton College Executive Education and the Department of Information Systems at the Sam M. Walton College of Business are hosting the 2022 Women in IT Virtual Conference April 13. Clive Thompson, an award-winning journalist and author who writes about science and technology, is the keynote speaker. 

Thompson specializes in writing about technology and its new developments and everyday usage. His work appears in Wired, The New York Times and Smithsonian magazines.

Thompson is the author of Smarter Than You Think: How Technology is Changing Our Minds for the Better and Coders: The Making of a New Tribe and the Remaking of the World. In his book Smarter Than You Think, he discusses modern technology and how it makes us smarter, more innovative and better-connected. In Coders, he examines computer programmers and their culture.

The online conference focuses on building and strengthening the community of diverse women in information technology (IT) from across Arkansas and beyond. Participants network with others in their field while learning the latest IT trends and what women need to know to stay ahead. The general public and the campus community are invited to attend.

Pre-registration is required. The deadline is April 11. Tickets cost $250 for the general public.
