Donate to the Meal Donation Drive Through April 27
Associated Student Government

Associated Student Government and the Volunteer Action Center have partnered with Chartwells to bring the Meal Donation Drive to campus for the Spring 2022 semester. Through April 27, students who have purchased a meal plan but who still have dining "swipes" leftover in their weekly or semesterly quota can donate one meal swipe to a student in need every time they visit a campus dining hall.

The Meal Donation Drive was reintroduced in 2019 and serves to alleviate food insecurity for University of Arkansas students. On the Fayetteville campus, approximately one in three university students experience food insecurity to some degree. Since 2019, the Meal Donation Drives have collected over 4,000 meals that are redistributed to students in need through UofA Cares.

Students experiencing food insecurity can request meals at any time during the academic year from UofA Cares, and anybody with a university ID can use the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry.

This semester, the Full Circle Food Pantry is participating in the Schools of the SEC Food Fight. This is an annual food drive where nine school pantries in the SEC compete to see which school has the best support for their pantry. The pantry is teaming up with the Meal Donation Drive. Each meal donated will be one point towards the total collected in the drive. You can also donate food items at the pantry or at the Spring Razorback football game on April 16.

This event is sponsored by Associated Student Government and the Volunteer Action Center and is supported by the Student Activities Fee. For questions or for accommodations due to disability, please contact the Office of Student Activities, osa@uark.edu or call 479-575-5255.
