Gender Studies Program Director Lisa Corrigan explained, "The gender studies program is thrilled to offer this research to support to 14 scholars this year. The support facilitated new domestic and international research projects for eight graduate student researchers and four untenured faculty members on topics ranging from bystander interventions into sexual violence to gendered genocide research, from maternal health research to the Cold War's gender politics around soccer in Africa. As a Research I institution, the University of Arkansas plays a critical role in producing new knowledge, and the gender studies program is delighted to facilitate this groundbreaking research."

Recipients of this year's research support will participate in a Work-In-Progress Roundtable from noon to 5 p.m., Friday, April 22, on Zoom. Karma Chávez, professor and chair, Department of Mexican American and Latino/a Studies, University of Texas, will keynote the Roundtable at 2:15 p.m. in a talk titled, "A Compelling Narrative: Crafting Successful Grant and Fellowship Proposals." This talk is sponsored by the vice chancellor for diversity, equity and inclusion, Yvette Murphy-Erby.
