Staff Senate meeting quick notes from the April 14 meeting. Please note these are not the official meeting minutes.

Debbie McLoud - HR Updates

• Performance reviews are currently wrapping up.
• Salary increases to base pay and merit payments are planned pending the Board of Trustees' approval. The board's next meeting is May 25.
• Health insurance premiums will increase. There will be no change to our dental insurance or to our health plan.
• Human Resources is launching a compensation and classification study. This will be spearheaded by Debbie McLoud. The goal is to implement a comprehensive compensation plan across campus.
• If approved, all positions will be non-classified by 2023.

Gary Smith - Parking & Transit Updates

• Yield markings for Garland and Harmon parking garages are planned for summer.
• Please note lots that will need to be vacated for the Garth Brooks concert on April 23.
• There will be a 3 percent increase for parking permits next year.

Treasurer's Report

• Outstanding Team Award – There were seven nominations.
• Arkansas Teacher Core is the winner of Outstanding Team.

Elections

• The nominations survey was sent out via Newswire. Please nominate those who you think would do a great job serving on Staff Senate.
• Elections will begin on April 24.

Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year

• There were 11 nominees for Employee of the Third Quarter.

Special Events

• The Staff Senate Picnic is on May 19. Set-up is May 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• There will be a vendor fair. If you have questions, please contact Jen Boyer.
• The Staff Senate Celebration is on April 26 at 1:30 p.m.

Childcare Assistance Committee

• The survey data will be analyzed early this week. There have been 220 responses.

Chair Updates:

• The chancellor search is continuing.
• About 100 individuals joined the Staff Senate Forum.
• Officers met with Chancellor Robinson yesterday. Raises and childcare assistance were discussed.
• Remote and Flexible Task Force continues to meet. They are looking at the approval process being done through Workday.

Around the Senate:

• Arkansas Alumni Association's Working Like a Hog event is on April 28.
• Chancellor's Commission on Women panel is on April 18 and will focus on empowerment through mentoring.
• Be kind to your Anthony Travel agent and follow all travel rules.
• Orientation begins on May 25.
