A display of books for Earth Day is up near the west entrance of Mullins Library. Curated by Lynaire Hartsell, user experience coordinator, the display will be up through the end of the month. A research guide on Global Warming curated by Lora Lennertz, data services librarian, is available to the public online at no cost.

"The libraries invite you to celebrate Earth Day by inquiring about topics such as conservation, climate change and global warming," said Martha Anderson, director of diversity, equity and inclusion. "We encourage you to volunteer with local organizations for the good of the planet. Below is a list of titles to assist with your research."

Titles in the physical display include The Case for the Green New Deal by Ann Pettifor, Losing Earth: A Recent History by Nathaniel Rich and Our Final Warning: Six Degrees of Climate Emergency by Mark Lynas.

The research guide includes selections from Dick Bennett, professor emeritus, as well as staff picks and data points on the environment and sustainability.

Jason Battles, dean of libraries, adds, "Professor Bennett is a leader in bringing attention to the climate crisis we face and its broad-ranging impact on society. The University Libraries strive to continue to highlight the issue and make known to the current and future generation of scholars the urgency with which it needs addressing."
