'If This Was You?' A Student-Led Pilot Project
The RESPECT peer education program of the Campus Sexual and Relationship Violence Center announces a pilot virtual program entitled "If This Was You?" This is an interactive, student created website that takes participants through different scenarios involving sexual and/or relationship violence. Responses to questions throughout the scenarios impact the outcome.
"This is a remarkable student project created by RESPECT peer educator Katie Fix," said Dr. Mary A. Wyandt-Hiebert, director of the center. "We are very proud of her and all RESPECT peer educators for their dedicated service and commitment to ending sexual violence."
"If This Was You?" is designed to let participants choose their actions in different scenarios and see how these, and other actions, play out. Its goal is to educate participants on active bystander intervention practices and increase awareness of potentially harmful situations.
Visit the website or join us at the Greek Theatre between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Thursday, April 28, to test this pilot program in real time. Real-time participants are welcomed to give feedback and will receive a prize (while they last). Also be sure to look for flyers around campus containing the website's QR code starting May 3.
