Important Cut-Off Dates for the Work It Off Program
Work It Off, the program that allows student volunteer service to be used to pay off a parking citation, is preparing to end for the semester. Please see below for important deadlines, details and dates regarding cut-offs for program eligibility.
Last Day for Eligible Citations: Citations given after Reading Day on May 6 are not eligible for the Work It Off Program.
Last Day to Submit Work It Off Applications: All Work It Off applications and service must be totally completed and turned in by end of the day May 13 to be approved and for credit to be applied to your citation. Any applications submitted after 5 p.m. on May 13 will be denied and you will be responsible for your citation.
What is Work It Off?
The "Work-it-Off" Program is brought to current U of A students by the Transit and Parking Department, the Volunteer Action Center and the Associated Student Government. This gives a student who has obtained a parking citation an alternative means to earn up to a $75 credit toward their citation fee through performing three community service hours through the Volunteer Action Center. Service must be completed after the parking ticket was issued and application must be completed within 30 days of the ticket being issued.
- Step 1: Go to uark.givepulse.com. Click "Log In" at the top right Corner. Click "Log In via University of Arkansas," and type in your UARK credentials.
- Step 2: Perform and log three hours or more of community service. GivePulse calls these "Impacts."
- Step 3: Once you have logged and verified your impacts on GivePulse, fill out this HogSync form to apply for the Work It Off program. Important: The agency you volunteer with must verify your hours through GivePulse for your service to qualify. Note: Students may only Work it Off for one ticket per academic year. You cannot Work It Off during the summer.
- Step 4: Volunteer Action Center staff will verify that you attended your hours through GivePulse and that your attendance has been verified by the agency for which you volunteered.
- Step 5: Once all steps are completed correctly, the Volunteer Action Center staff will send your information and Work It Off application to Transit and Parking for review electronically.
- Step 6: After reviewing your materials, Transit and Parking will email you, indicating that they have put up to a $75 credit towards the ticket included in your application. You are expected to pay any remaining balance on the ticket ASAP.
