The U of A Treble Chorus recently released a recording of "You Learn" by rock legend Alanis Morissette, finishing a complicated performing season due to COVID-19. The video is availble to view on the official U of A Choirs YouTube channel.

“You Learn” comes from Morissette's Jagged Little Pill album, one of the best-selling rock albums of all time and an icon of the alt-rock movement of the 1990s. It is also the basis of the hit Broadway musical of the same name.

Treble Chorus alto and music major Dani Biggs commented that “The song ended up being a big part of how the group felt during [the pandemic]. COVID-19 took a lot from us and taught us so much.”

Stephen E. Caldwell, associate professor of music and director of the group, agreed, adding that “The song is about how we can learn something from any situation, no matter how bad it may seem in the moment. Those lessons help us triumph as we move forward.”

Founded in 2014, the U of A Treble Chorus is an open-enrollment ensemble focusing on music for soprano and alto voices and is a mixture of music major and non-major singers.
