Mental Health Awareness to Be Discussed at May JEDI Hour

The College of Engineering Office of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion's May JEDI Hour will feature Gonzalo Camp, mental health clinician and outreach coordinator with the Pat Walker Health Center, on the topic "Mental Health Awareness: Be Kind to Yourself."

Camp will discuss current issues and trends related to mental health and its impact on higher education while also allotting time to understand and reflect on self-care and creating space for personal growth.

The session will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 24. Registration is not necessary and all are welcome.

Camp holds a master's degree in social work from the University of Arkansas. He has worked as a psychologist and psychotherapist, helping teenagers and adults deal with mental health issues using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Assertive Community Treatment and mindfulness.

Since joining health center, he has also been engaged in advocacy and networking events to connect underserved populations with available resources.
