Jacob London, a 17-year staffer of the Office of Testing Services, has been named its new director, effective July 1.

In his new role, London is responsible for expanding access to remote and on-campus testing, forming partnerships with units across campus and ensuring compliance of all testing processes and procedures from external vendors. London will also take over the center as it assumes responsibility of the the campus' accommodated testing efforts in partnership with the Center for Educational Access, effective July 1.

"I'm honored to be selected as the director and grateful for the opportunity to lead Testing Services going forward," London said. "I'm proud of the work we have done over the years and will strive to continue down the path Dr. Mirdamadi forged during her career in Testing Services. I look forward to building partnerships across campus as we expand our offerings to our students and the surrounding community."

London has served in the Office of Testing Services since 2005, beginning as an administrative assistant before being promoted to office manager in 2012. In 2019, he was appointed associate director of testing services, where he served as the primary contact for testing partners, trained new and existing staff and coordinated testing vendor schedules, along with helping secure certification from the National College Testing Association.

"Jacob has been a longstanding and valued member of testing services within the Graduate School and International Education and has been integral in the building of that office from its origins as a paper-based testing center to a fully accredited computer-based facility," said Curt Rom, dean of the Graduate School and International Education. "His experience in testing center operations, strategic planning and participation on a national level with the National College Testing Association will be critical as testing services expands its services to campus. I know he is looking forward to serving the increasing needs of the campus community."

London replaces Yassaman Mirdamadi, who retired this summer after 39 years of service to the U of A.

The Office of Testing Services is located at 97 N. Razorback Rd. More information on the office can be found on its website.
