The Alrubaye family was the 2021 Family of the Year.

The application for Family of the Year is now open! Students interested in nominating their family as Family of the Year can fill out and submit their application online through HogSync. Applications must be submitted by noon on Thursday, Sept. 1. Any University of Arkansas at Fayetteville student enrolled for Fall 2022 who meets co-curricular requirements is eligible to submit a family application. Students are allowed to nominate their own family or another student's family for Family of the Year.

The Associated Student Government and the Parent & Family Programs are proud to sponsor the Family of the Year. The Family of the Year represents the university as the model Razorback family. They are selected as the family who exemplifies the Arkansas spirit as well as a family who provides outstanding support for their student and their student's success at the university.

"Family plays a vital role in the success of students on this campus, and we're so excited to recognize one Razorback family who has gone above and beyond to ensure the success of their students and the University of Arkansas as a whole," says Tyler Merreighn, ASG vice president. "We notice the behind-the-scenes support, encouragement and overall commitment of our Razorback families and how each of those things allow students on this campus to thrive. When you have a student at the University of Arkansas, the entire family becomes a Razorback. The contagious Razorback energy is just hard to shake, and we as a Razorback community take great pride in selecting our 25th Family of the Year, a family who embodies that energy."

The Family of the Year will receive tickets for the Arkansas Razorback football game versus the Missouri State University on Saturday, Sept. 17, and will be honored during the game. The family will also receive Airbnb accommodations and other benefits for their weekend. The university's official "Family Weekend" falls on Sept. 16-18.

The 25th Razorback Family of the Year will be announced no later than Thursday, Sept. 8. Please visit asg.uark.edu or follow us on Instagram @uarkasg for the announcement.
